Most customers start with stock sizes because they're ready now and cost less. Custom boxes make sense when a stock size leaves too much empty space, or when you want your brand on the box.

Packaging Boxes for Every Job
Shipping boxes. Regular slotted cartons with flaps top and bottom. They're the everyday choice for dispatch, storage and moving stock between sites.

Heavy duty cartons. Double wall boxes for heavy parts, glassware and anything stacked high. For bulky freight, try a pallet box with lid.

How to Choose the Right Cardboard Box
Match the box to what's going in it and where it's going. The wrong box means more damage and more void fill. A box that's stronger than it needs to be just adds weight and cost.
Single wall (standard duty). One layer of fluted board between two flat liners. Best for parcels, eCommerce orders and light storage, with contents up to about 10 to 15kg.
Double wall (heavy duty). Two layers of fluting for much more stacking strength. Use it for contents over 15kg, fragile goods, metal parts, and long-term storage where damp air can soften standard board.
Measure the inside. Box sizes are always internal, given as Length x Width x Height. Length is the longest side of the opening, width is the shorter side, and height is the depth. Measuring the inside means your product fits without the walls bulging, which keeps pallet stacks stable.
Finish the Job
Seal your cartons with packing tape or plastic-free paper tape. Protect what's inside with bubble wrap or void fill, and keep pallet loads secure with corner protectors.
Common Questions
What's the difference between a box and a carton?
Not much. In warehouses, "box", "carton" and "carton box" usually mean the same thing: a corrugated cardboard box with flaps on the top and bottom. "Shipping carton" just tends to mean a box built for freight and storage.
When should I move to double wall boxes?
Go to double wall if your packed carton weighs more than 10 to 15kg, if the contents are fragile, or if pallets will be stacked several layers high. Double wall is much stronger top to bottom, so the boxes at the bottom of the pallet don't collapse.
How long do custom boxes take?
Usually 10 to 15 working days, depending on the type of box and how complex it is. Plain custom sizes are quicker than die-cut or printed boxes. We'll confirm lead times when we quote.
Do you make mailing boxes and custom printed boxes?
Yes. We supply die-cut mailing boxes for eCommerce, plus boxes printed with your logo or artwork. Send us your sizes and quantities and we'll put options together.
Are your cartons recyclable?
Yes. Our cardboard boxes are made with recycled fibre and have no plastic or wax coating, so they can go straight into kerbside cardboard recycling. Seal them with kraft paper tape for a fully plastic-free box.
Do you offer bulk or trade pricing?
Yes. Prices drop with volume, with better rates on half-pallet, full-pallet and multi-pallet orders. Send us your sizes and rough quantities in the form below and we'll set up trade pricing.
Can I collect from you or get delivery in Sydney?
Both. We keep stock sizes ready at our Villawood warehouse, so you can arrange counter collection for urgent jobs. We also deliver daily across the Sydney metro area.
