Should I use cardboard, plastic, or metal corner protectors?
Selection depends on your strapping tension and load type:
  • 50mm Cardboard: Economical and recyclable. Best for general warehouse e-commerce and lightweight cartons.
  • Plastic Corner Protectors: Durable and reusable. Best for medium-to-heavy loads and high-tension PET strapping.
  • Metal Strap Guards (J-Brackets): The only choice for rigid, heavy cargo like timber or masonry where high-tension steel strapping is used.
Will the strapping lance work with all types of strapping?
Yes. Our 1350mm ergonomic lance features a universal industrial steel clamp designed to hold Polypropylene (PP), Polyester (PET), and Composite strapping. It allows for a standing-position feed under standard Australian pallets (1165mm wide) without the need to bend or kneel.
What are the primary uses for perforated metal strapping?
Our 23mm x 15m punched metal strap is primarily used in the HVAC and plumbing trades for hanging ductwork, air conditioning units, and piping. It is manufactured from galvanised steel to provide corrosion resistance in ceiling voids and industrial environments.
Do edge protectors help maintain strap tension?
Absolutely. Without a protector, high-tension strapping often "bites" into the carton corner, causing the box to collapse slightly. This collapse creates slack in the strap, compromising load stability. Edge protectors keep the corner rigid, ensuring your strap remains at the correct tension throughout transit.
How are metal J-corner brackets secured to a load?
These galvanised steel brackets feature a "J" profile that allows them to "clip" or hang on the edge of a load during preparation. They can be held in place by the tension of the steel strapping or pre-taped on.
