Four ways to make your packaging greener
There's no single "eco" product that suits every job. Most businesses get the best result by combining these approaches.

Landfill-biodegradable packaging from Biogone
Most soft plastic packaging still ends up in landfill. Biogone's landfill-biodegradable range, including landfill-biodegradable pallet wrap, is made to be broken down by the microorganisms found in landfill, rather than sitting there for centuries.
How it's verified
Biogone has its materials tested by an independent laboratory to ASTM D5511, a test that measures how a plastic biodegrades in oxygen-free conditions designed to replicate a landfill. It also uses Biochemical Methane Potential (BMP) testing. Biogone publishes details on its verified biodegradability page.
What "landfill" means here
The claim applies to modern engineered landfills, which are designed to support microbial activity and capture the methane produced for energy. These products are not designed to break down in the open environment, so they should still be disposed of responsibly.

How to get started
1. Start with what you use most
Tape, void fill and pallet wrap are usually the biggest volumes, so a swap there makes the most difference.
2. Test before you switch
Run a few orders with the new material and check how they arrive. We can supply samples so you can trial before you commit.
3. Tell your customers
Let customers know how to dispose of your packaging. Simple instructions, like "this box and tape can go in your cardboard recycling", make the change count.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is sustainable packaging?
Packaging that uses less new material, is made from recycled or renewable material, or is easier to recycle after use. In practice that means paper instead of plastic where it works, recycled-content plastics where it doesn't, and using only as much packaging as you need.
What's the easiest eco-friendly swap for a warehouse?
Packaging tape and void fill. Switching to paper tape and paper void fill is simple, needs little or no new equipment, and means the whole box can usually be recycled together.
Is eco-friendly packaging as strong as standard packaging?
For most jobs, yes. Paper tape, kraft paper and recycled-content films are made for everyday dispatch. As with any change, run a few test shipments first, especially for heavy or fragile goods.
What does 50% recycled content mean?
Half of the plastic in the product comes from recycled material rather than new plastic. It does the same job while using less new plastic.
What does landfill-biodegradable mean?
It means the plastic is made to be broken down by microorganisms in the oxygen-free conditions of a modern engineered landfill. Biogone backs this with independent ASTM D5511 and BMP testing. It isn't the same as compostable, and the products aren't designed to break down in the open environment.
