Which parent machine is required for the Auto-Coiler?
The Auto-Coiler is an automated attachment specifically designed for the Ranpak PadPak Senior. It cannot be used as a standalone unit or with the Guardian or Junior models, as it requires the high-capacity pad output of the Senior machine.
How does paper coiling compare to foam-in-place?
For heavy industrial goods, the multilayered paper coils offer superior "memory" and shock absorption compared to foam. While foam can crack or deform under heavy weight, the paper discs maintain their structural integrity throughout long-haul transit.
What is the footprint of the Auto-Coiler attachment?
The unit is compact, measuring approximately 940x787x1041mm. It is designed to sit directly at the end of the PadPak Senior, creating an integrated packing station that fits easily into standard industrial floor layouts.
Is the coiling process fully automated?
Yes. Once the PadPak Senior creates the cushion, the Auto-Coiler takes the pad and winds it into a disc without operator intervention. The operator simply picks up the finished coil and places it in the carton.
Can I use this for fragile items as well as heavy ones?
Absolutely. While it excels at heavy industrial parts, it is widely used for large ceramics and glass bulk shipments. The density of the coil provides a protective "nest" that isolates fragile items from impact.
