Styro Box FAQ
What makes expanded polystyrene (EPS) ideal for ice boxes?
EPS is composed of approximately 98% trapped air bubbles held within a dense, rigid polymer matrix. Because completely stagnant air is a highly inefficient conductor of thermal energy, it functions as a superior insulation barrier, isolating cold internal payloads from the heat inside delivery vans and courier networks.
Do I require active chilled gel packs inside a styrofoam shipping box?
Yes. Passive insulated containers only slow down the entry rate of ambient atmospheric heat; they do not actively generate cold. Frozen gel packs or dry ice blocks are required to absorb invading ambient warmth and keep your specific temperature range stable over a 24 to 48 hour delivery timeline.
Are these polystyrene styro boxes water-resistant and food-safe?
Yes. The closed-cell structure of expanded polystyrene is completely water-resistant, meaning it will not absorb melting ice water, condensation, or leaks from seafood packs. Our premium boxes are molded from clean materials suitable for direct transport contact with seafood, meat cuts, and dairy products.
Can we establish a trade account for high-volume commercial pallet distributions?
Yes. We supply wholesale quantities to high-volume pharmaceutical suppliers, food prep facilities, and multi-site logistics hubs across Australia. Tiered price breaks are available for half-pallet and full-pallet quantities. Please reach out to our sales department via our web form below to organise pricing.
